How to Better Engage Post-Christian Culture

In this video, Alan Noble and Trevin Wax discuss how the “weird” or countercultural aspects of the Christian faith might be opportunities, not stumbling blocks, in reaching a post-Christian culture. They discuss the potential of being a source of stability, health, and sanity on the topics of family, gender, and sexuality, among others. Wax appeals to history to argue that we shouldn’t sidestep or compromise on the topics we think are too different from or too challenging to our culture—instead, we should hold faithfully to these countercultural convictions as a source of our strength.

Alan Noble (PhD) is the author of several books, including To Live Well, You Are Not Your Own, and On Getting Out of Bed. He is associate professor of English at Oklahoma Baptist University.

Trevin Wax is vice president of resources and marketing at the North American Mission Board and a visiting professor at Cedarville University. A former missionary to Romania, Trevin is a regular columnist at The Gospel Coalition and has contributed to The Washington Post, World, and Christianity Today. He has taught courses on mission and ministry at Wheaton College and has lectured several times on Christianity and culture at Wycliffe Hall of Oxford University. He is a founding editor of The Gospel Project, has served as publisher for the Christian Standard Bible, and is currently a fellow for The Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics. He is the author of multiple books, including The Gospel Way Catechism, The Thrill of Orthodoxy, The Multi-Directional Leader, This Is Our Time, and Gospel Centered Teaching.
